Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF) is on the search for talented young dancers to take part in a dynamic summer dance project, with acclaimed Italian choreographer Roberto Lori. The course focuses on collaborative work, and this year the dancers will be joined by musicians from the North East Folk Collective, an initiative formed in 2009 to encourage young people to embrace traditional music and song in the North East. Together, the musicians and dancers will work with Roberto to create a new piece which encompasses the energy and poetry of Scottish music.
Aberdeen International Youth Festival is an annual celebration of young performers. The festival includes theatre, dance and music of all genres as well as education courses where young people have the chance to perform at venues across the city.
