In this series of four singing and songwriting workshops, Manchester based ballad singer Jennifer Reid will lead you in exploring memories, imagination and local history to write new ballads culminating in a final performance at The Fruitmarket Gallery on Saturday 28 May, 6–7pm.*
Workshops are inspired by Sara Barker's exhibition at the Gallery and the way in which Barker’s work inhabits and describes space. You will be using writing and song to trigger new imaginings about what’s next for our local space and time.
Jennifer has had a busy couple of years with performances for Jeremy Deller at the Venice Biennale and sessions on BBC 6 Music, appearances on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4 and even performing on the new Hairy Bikers programme The Pubs that Built Britain! Jennifer will be imparting her vast knowledge of songwriting in these 4 workshops, so BOOK NOW to avoid disappointment. *The performance is optional, you do need to sing in front of the audience if you would prefer not to.Find Out More
