This is a wonderful opportunity to spend a day with Mary Brennan, one of Scotland's most respected performance critics and a regular writer for The Herald for the past 25 years. Participants will get a point-by-point guide to critical practice from hints on note taking through to structuring review copy. There will be some writing in real-time as part of the workshop so please come prepared.
The workshop is suitable for anyone 14 years and over interested in developing skills in critical writing and the reviewing of dance and theatre performances.
As a follow up to this workshop, there will be opportunities to put what you learn into practice reviewing forthcoming performances programmed by Borders Live Touring.
The cost of the workshop is £5 which should be paid in cash on the day. Students and High School pupils are free on production of a valid matriculation card or Young Scot card (or other proof of age if not available). The cost includes refreshments and a light lunch.
